Associated Supermarket cheats workers, Thursday Morning One Liners...

The top two executives at an Associated supermarket in Brooklyn were arrested on Wednesday on charges that they had cheated workers out of more than $300,000 and had falsified business records that they gave to state officials.

Indeed, while cleanliness has long been associated with a high opinion of a particular store, the study found 46 percent of consumers deeming a clean shopping environment as extremely important.

Nassau County, traditionally one of the nation's most powerful Republican strongholds, has turned Democratic, according to Jay Jacobs, Nassau Democratic chairman. The party leader said Democrats closed the gap in voter registration, as of 11 a.m. yesterday, and by day's end had a 328,582 to 328,461 enrollment edge over county Republicans 

A broad-based Flushing/Corona community development group has strongly urged every City Councilmember to vote for the Willets Point redevelopment plan when it comes before the council for final approval in the near future.
