Local 1500 is calling on all Elected Officials to step up in support of the hard work and dedication of all grocery workers.
During the worst health crisis in recent history, UFCW Local 1500 is seeking for the companies to reward their employees for all of their sacrifice, dedication, and hard work. The Union wants Employers to come up with a remedy, even beyond the scope of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and give back to all of the employees that continue to work during this health crisis.
“We’ve watched the great members of Local 1500 selflessly report to work all during this crisis, with an immeasurable concern for the owners of their companies, and customers they see every day” said Local 1500 President Rob Newell. “It’s high time the companies that have seen incredible gains over the last few weeks show their true appreciation for their loyal employees for sticking through this crisis.” President Newell asked the companies to consider turning some of their profits into a wage increase for Local 1500 members.
In an effort to move this issue, President Newell sent these letters to NEw York State Elected Officials.
