UFCW Local 1500 Member Wins Child Care Grant

Congratulations to UFCW Local 1500 member, Daniela Spatola from Stop & Shop #581 Staten Island!  She was the 2015 winner of the UFCW Women's Network Child Day Care Grant.

Each year, the UFCW Region One South Women’s Network provides a number of grants to UFCW members to help them pay for child care costs.

Daniela, a member of Local 1500 for over eight years, received her grant earlier last month.  Congratulations, Daniela!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk Oct. 21

Our union actively fights to better New York's communities.  Each October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) we sponsor the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach.  The walk is a great day that brings survivors, patients and anyone who has been affected by Beast Cancer, together in solidarity for one common goal, fight to end Breast Cancer.

As a union made up of a majority of women, it's crucial we make Breast Cancer awareness a priority.  Each year we do an amazing job holding fundraisers at our stores, raising funds for the walk and in effect, raising Breast Cancer awareness.  Join your union brothers and sisters on this great day at Jones Beach Field 5.  RSVP on Facebook.
