Over 200 Turnout for Annual Summer Blood Drive & BBQ

Last week our Blood drive and Summer BBQ was a huge success!  We were able to collect 129 pints of blood which will go to over 400 New Yorkers in need, all thanks to YOU!  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to all our volunteers and donors for taking time out of your day to make a difference in your community.  Since we began running Blood Drives in our new office, our union has helped over 1,000 New Yorkers who are in urgent need of Blood!  Thanks again, and if you'd like to set up your own blood drive, or to find out when our next one is, shoot us an email!

People donate blood for many reasons.  For me, I've seen the benefits of what blood donation has done for my family members first hand.

Blood centers throughout New York are in desperate need of our help. The reality is scary, supply levels are at a dangerous 1-day supply of blood.  There couldn't be a more important time than now to donate blood and help the thousands of New Yorkers who need blood in order to survive each day.  Last year we were able to donate over 100 pints of blood to the NY Blood Center.  This year we've set a goal to exceed last year's mark and need your help!

Join us this Wednesday,  July 11, 2012,  from 2-8 PM for our annual Blood Drive at our Union Hall (425 Merrick Ave. Westbury NY 11590).  We'll be hosting a free BBQ for all donors, volunteers and families to say thank you for helping save a life.
