WHAT: Rally protesting A&P CEO Eric Claus' Appearance on Good Morning America.

WHERE: Pathmark 160 E 125th St, New York, NY 10035

WHEN: Friday April 17th, 8:45 AM-10:00 AM

WHY: UFCW Local 1500 has filed charges with both New York State and Federal agencies against A&P/Pathmark for various violations of law. The Union is also protesting the layoff of dozens of workers at A&P/Pathmark's due to the West Hempstead Pathmark store closing.

"A&P/Pathmark needs to answer this question: How does a family feed themselves after A&P/Pathmark lays them off," stated UFCW Local 1500 President Bruce W. Both. "For this company to give advice on how to feed families during these difficult times while needlessly adding people to the unemployment line is the height of hypocrisy. Good Morning America should not be a party to this charade," Both concluded.

I,m glad local 1500 is standing up for us. A @ P Has taken an employee oriented company and destroyed it. We broke our backs to work out the transition and did everything they have asked, Now they want lay offs even though they have profitted for the first time in years(surprise surprise) Now they are screwing with employees with two jobs and families , putting them on unwarranted shifts , hoping to make them quit, so they can make more money. Then they are going to speak about how they want to save families money on shopping. Hypocrites!! Wake up Mr Eric Claus. Take a lesson from Wegmans who openly praises there employees for their success, and practice what they preach. Is it any wonder with your track record for treating employees like crap, that your A@p market share was driven out of new york by Pathmark in the 80,s I guess you guys still havn,t learned that its your employees who put the product on the shelf, and your employees who check the customers out of your stores
